ASTRA V4.1 can find new versions automatically when you’re online. Updates come from the ASTRA website and are cryptographically verified before you decide whether to install.

01 · Check

At startup and periodically while open, ASTRA looks for a newer version over HTTPS. Turn it off anytime in Settings.

02 · Download

New release packages are downloaded to a private local update folder. ASTRA verifies a signed release manifest and a matching SHA-256 hash.

03 · Confirm

The app asks you to approve installation. Downloads are automatic when checks are enabled; installation never starts without your confirmation.

04 · Restart

A local helper updates the portable EXE, preserves your app library and license settings, and restarts ASTRA. The previous app file is kept as a backup.

Important: ASTRA is currently an unsigned community EXE, which means Windows SmartScreen may display a warning. Verify the source and don't run software you don't trust. The updater's cryptographic release signature is separate from Windows code-signing.
